2023 Acolytes Pinot Noir

$35.00

2023 Acolytes Pinot Noir, Santa Barbara County

Back in the early 2010s, we fell in love with Santa Barbara County (SBC) for its diverse microclimates and stunning wines. As we continued to dive deeper on our own journey, we started to see that the maritime climate and soils in SBC produce some of the best Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in the world. And while our focus since 2015 has been on the cultivation and production of our estate wines from Our Lady of Guadalupe Vineyard, that changed with the 2023 vintage. Respected neighbors of ours were smitten with the chance to work closely with us; coming from lauded vineyards with the utmost respect in the region, some we have even worked with in the past, there was so much good wine on offer. We couldn’t help ourselves and thus began the project of putting together our own blends that capture the appellation through the lens of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Highlighting Santa Barbara County, Acolytes is born.

Winemaker’s Notes

A medium ruby core with a vivid rose rim, the 2023 Acolytes Pinot Noir opens with beguiling aromatics most associated with the varietal—ripe cherry, muddled strawberry, sandalwood and baking spices. The palate reveals layers upon layers of ripe red and blue fruits along with a hint of cedar and white pepper. Bright on the finish, the wine closes at length with a guilty hint of baked cherry turnover.

Composition

Chardonnay

Élevage

Aged in French Oak for 18 months, 10% New
